FTP BLT

January 24, 2010 Leave a comment

So i just busted 342nd in the FTP $5 BLT tourney for $75 this was a 30k field turbo and I run like god to be 4th in chips with 500 left. I really felt a deep run coming. Then 2nd hand after the break I get AA<KK to leave me with like 220k in chips…was a huge pot that would of give me chip lead.

Next blind level was 8k/16k and I shoved over a raise with JJ, open was from big stack who was just raising almost every hand… of course this time he has QQ fml.

O well I will have to ship the double deuce instead, I will let you know how it goes tommorow.

GL to all that are playing. Also WBCOOP starts tommorow.

Bloggerments imo

So my exams are now over and its time to start grinding again. The FT bubble last Sunday had two effects. Firstly it built my confidence again, as I know I can go deep and do well in large field MTTs so surely its only a matter of time vefore I ship one or have a nice top 3 score.

I also got my email from stars today, confirming this blog is approved for the WBCOOP, the schedule is:

No Limit Hold’em January 25 17:00 ET
Pot Limit Omaha January 26 17:00 ET
No Limit Hold’em January 27 18:00 ET
No Limit Hold’em January 28 18:00 ET
8-Game Mix January 29 19:00 ET
No Limit Hold’em January 30 15:00 ET

So I am looking forward to playing in all of these events. I wanted to start playing some PLO and learning other games, so the 8 game event will be cool, although I will be terrible but why not learn for free as there will be some great players in all the events. Some cool prizes up for grabs to although not as epic as a PCA seat like last years winner. Still awesme from stars imo tho. Prizes for prelims are:

1st Place SCOOP Tickets to Value of $1,050,
2nd to 9th Place SCOOP Tickets to Value of $215,
10th to 36th Place SCOOP Tickets to Value of $33,
37th to 63rd Place SCOOP Tickets to Value of $16.50,
64th to 153rd Place SCOOP Tickets to Value of $11

There are also some spot prizes up for grabs which are:

Best Tournament Blogger: SCOOP Tickets to Value of $425
Highly Commended Tournament Blogger (x3): SCOOP Tickets to Value of $33 Best Tournament Tweeter:
SCOOP Tickets to Value of $425
Highly Commended Tournament Tweeter (x3): SCOOP Tickets to Value of $33

The Final begins at 15:00 ET on Sunday 31st of January. The game will be No Limit Hold’em. The Final will award the following prizes:

1st Place SCOOP Tickets to Value of $3,150,
2nd to 9th SCOOP Tickets to Value of $2,100,
10th to 36th SCOOP Tickets to Value of $215,
37th to 63rd Place SCOOP Tickets to Value of $55,
64th to 153rd Place SCOOP Tickets to Value of $22

well played stars imo, so anybody who hasn’t already jumped on the blogging bandwagon. Why not get started and get involved next year. So I will be keeping this updated throughout the WBCOOP and hopefully take down a spot prize to.

So I have done most of my exams now and I feel fairly happy with how they went. I have my last one tommorow, which was the one I was least worried about. Looking forward to getting it over with then hopefully getting in some volume at the tables.

FT Bubble FTW

OK so I gave up on the studying and decided to play a little poker lastnight. I decided to deposit on FTP, which I havn’t played on for a while. I only played a couple of tourneys and ran pretty good in the $24 42k GTD, I was CL with 13 to go.

Two flips later I was busted in 10th fml!

I think I spazzed out a bit on the last hand and if I played it a little differently I could of been on for my first 5 figure score ($17k for 1st) if not a decent 4 figure score for a top 5 finish. So obviulslt I was dissapointed with the result but 10/3200+ is decent and apart from the last hand I am very happy with the way I played. $650~ for 7 hours work isn’t too bad either and it definitely beats studying.

So back to the grind today, exams for the next 3 days and hopefully playing again next weekend.

Studying…sigh

January 15, 2010 Leave a comment

Ok so over the weekend I really need to do some studying for these exams next week, I am just finding it so hard to get myself motivated to do it though.  So many distractions at home.

I guess I will have to go out to liabry or coffee shop or something and just get stuck into it.  Can’t wait to get back to the tables and hopefully start a good 2010 poker wise.

Gl at the tables all
